Life is very similar to a boxing ring. Defeat is not final when someone falls. It becomes final when the person refuses to get up and fight again.
Who am I?
My name is Narcis Omeragić, and I am the founder of Innerchampion. I was born in Derventa, former Yugoslavia. When I was eight years old, my family and I fled to the Netherlands due to the Balkan War. Our journey first took us to Poland, then to Croatia, while my father served in the army in Sarajevo. After a year, he joined us in Croatia, where we lived for another year before seeking asylum in the Netherlands.
In the Netherlands, my search for my place in society began. The uncertainty of whether the Netherlands would be our final destination created a sense of insecurity. I found comfort in other young refugees from countries like Bosnia, Somalia, and Afghanistan. We grew up in a working-class neighborhood, Overstegen, where we played a lot of football and occasionally caused some mischief. Although I wasn’t the best football player, I enjoyed playing for FK Doetinchem.
My passion for martial arts began when a friend took me to a kickboxing training. Although I was the youngest and not the strongest, I learned perseverance and respect for my opponents. This experience led to a lifelong love of kickboxing and discipline. Martial arts icons like Peter Aerts and Ernesto Hoost inspired me. At fifteen, I had my first fight, and in 2010, I became a professional kickboxer, twice becoming the Dutch champion in the 95 kg weight class. My sports career taught me valuable lessons about discipline, perseverance, and self-confidence. I discovered that the only way to lose is to not try, a realization that would later serve me in life. These lessons are what I apply in my work as a coach.
I believe that everyone has a champion inside them, and our mindset is crucial to success. I always look for solutions, not problems. This is why I started organizing workshops and seminars on resilience in social care and practical teaching. Later, I began working with young people, first as a resilience coach, and then as a physical therapist. Complex behavior fascinated me, especially what keeps people stuck in negative patterns. My personal transformation began during a difficult period of divorce, burnout, fear, and depression. My elite athlete mindset helped me search for change. I wanted to understand everything about the connection between the body and mind.
I started studying psychosomatic sciences and was driven to learn how to change our perception of reality and what elements we need. This process taught me how to develop a more resilient, flexible, and creative way of thinking. I changed destructive patterns and discovered how to live a life without stress. Now, I am motivated to help you gain the same insight and transform your life into a life without stress. It’s truly possible and much easier than you think! Contact me and discover how you can unleash the champion within you.
